On June 17th, the school was filled with Asian foods, costumes and dances with over 270 primary school students and their teachers joining BHS staff and students for the 2016 Asia EXPO.
The activities were provided by BHS staff and International students from the University of Wollongong and included Vietnamese Bamboo dancing, Bollywood dancing, a Yum Cha feast, the Chinese Lion Dance, Japanese origami, Korean BBQ and Korean drumming. There were many highlights on this day including the finale where everybody performed a Bollywood dance together. Other highlights included the exceptional sound of the BHS Korean drumming students and the stunning opening provided by Shoalhaven Heads public school students. The EXPO is a culmination of six months of work undertaken by our students in partnership with primary students from Shoalhaven Heads public school, Cambewarra public school, Kangaroo Valley public school, Bomaderry public school and Berry public school. The activities leading up to the event include visits from International students from the University of Wollongong which is made possible because of our partnership with the University of Wollongong’s International Student’s Unit.
