Aboriginal students at Bomaderry High School have the opportunity to participate in the AIME program, beginning in Week 2 of Term 2. Students have received permission notes and these need to be returned for students to take part. AIME provides tutoring and mentoring opportunities for our students. Year 7, 8, 11 and 12 will take part in Tutor Squads on Thursdays, whilst Year 9 and 10 students have University visits at the end of each term. Contact Mrs. Russell for further details on this exciting opportunity and see our Aboriginal Education page on this website for links to the AIME program.
Ellavation is a mentoring program devised by the Ella siblings, to provide guidance and pathways for Aboriginal students in Year 11 and 12. Students are provided with opportunities to access university information days, apply for early entry and visit work places associated with their chosen career. The Ellavation team, including Australian Rugby legend Jim Williams and local elite Rugby League champion Dylan Farrell, will visit the school every fortnight. The hub for Aboriginal education is D Block, with D1 and D2 assigned as tutor and meeting rooms, and our AEO is also in close proximity there. Further information about Ellavation is provided in the link from our Aboriginal Education page on this website.
