The AIME program is coming to Bomaderry High School in 2017. The program will commence in Term 2. Tutor squads will be formed for students in Years 7, 8 11 and 12. Year 9 and 10 students will access the Shoalhaven Campus of the University of Wollongong for two full days in Term 2 and 3 and for one day in Term 4. AIME will attend the school every Thursday and the school is excited to have signed up for the Gold program.

Ellavation is a mentoring program specifically for Year 11 and Year 12 students. The program was developed by the Ella siblings to provide pathways for Aboriginal students to meet their goals. The school is incredibly proud to have been chosen by Ellavation in 2017. Mentors from Ellavation will attend school on Thursdays during Terms 2, 3 and 4.

Sista Speak is an Aboriginal girl’s wellbeing program designed to be run in partnership with the local community. The young women participate in a variety of activities aimed at; improving self-esteem, understanding career options, finance and ability to make positive choices.
We have had local Aboriginal women come and talk to the girls about many different topics; Women’s business, culture, health etc. The girls enjoy coming to Sista Speak and are proud to be associated with the group. It enables Aboriginal girls from different years to connect and form a support group within the school and it enables them to build a rapport with various female teachers in the school. Sista speak has been running for three years at BHS.
Bro Speak is a wellbeing program for the Aboriginal boys in the school. It is designed to help the boys embrace their Aboriginal identity and be smart in their approach achieving their life goals.
The young men will participate in a variety of activities aimed at; improving self-esteem, understanding career options, finance and ability to make positive choices.
